Mark Zuckerberg insists he won’t be in line for brain chip like Elon Musk’s Neuralink

Mark Zuckerberg has said he would not want a Neuralink chip in his brain after Elon Musk’s company implanted the technology into a human for the first time in January.
The Meta CEO told the Morning Brew Daily podcast: “One of the wilder things that we’re working on is this neural interface.
“I don’t mean like a chip that you jack into your brain. Maybe in the future someone will do that, but I wouldn’t want to use Version 1 of that.
“I think you might want to wait until that one’s pretty mature. Let’s wait until I don’t need to upgrade that thing every year.”
Neuralink is one of the leading companies working in brain-computer interfaces.

Musk said the technology was designed to try and solve autism and schizophrenia and to allow people to use electronic devices through thought.
Some scientists have expressed skepticism in regard to Musk’s ambitions.
Zuckerberg discussed how his company is working on wristbands that incorporate AI that responds to hand gestures, allowing users to text friends.
He added: “You’ll be able to, in the future, essentially just like type and control something by thinking how you want to move your hand.”
This week, Zuckerberg also reviewed Apple’s Vision Pro, and he did not mince his words.
Comparing it to his own mixed-reality headset, Quest 3, he said: “It seems like there are a lot of people who just assumed that Vision Pro would be higher quality because it’s Apple and it costs $3,000 more, but honestly, I’m pretty surprised that Quest is so much better for the vast majority of things that people use these headsets for, with that price differential.”
